Mladen Zekic, DMD
Born in Bosnia, Dr. Mladen Zekic moved to Alabama at the age of 15. After finishing high school, he attended Birmingham-Southern College and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2002. He then pursued his Doctor of Medicinal Dentistry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Following a residency at the VA Hospital, Dr. Zekic attended the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado, where he received his Certificate of Orthodontics in 2009.
To stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technology in orthodontics, Dr. Zekic is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Alabama Dental Association and the Birmingham District Dental Society.
Outside of his work, Dr. Zekic – or “Dr. Z” as his patients usually call him – has been married to his wife, Mary Lou, for almost seven years. He spends a great deal of time outdoors playing tennis, traveling whenever and wherever he can and hiking. His other hobbies include pursuing his own artwork and photography, and, of course, watching college football.
